The Abortionist

(You can learn more about The Abortionist at the-abortionist.com)

The Abortionist is a fictional study of abortion politics recast as a murder mystery.

The main character Elliot Stearns, is a wheelchair-bound freelance writer living in Wauwatosa, WI.

Elliot is NOT a real person.

He is named after T.S. Eliot. The poet.

People sometimes think Elliot is real because of Elliot’s blog From Where I Sit.

From Where I Sit is not an attempt to delude people into thinking Elliot is a real person.

In The Abortionist, Elliot is known for his blog. I decided to establish and maintain his blog in the real world as a unique extension of the novel.

Plus, the blog enables me to comment on issues and events that both I and Elliot find interesting.

For me, Elliot has always been a tool for exploring politics and philosophical issues. The book The Abortionist was actually conceived as a vehicle for recasting the abortion debate. I wondered if people would think differently about abortion if the same techniques that were used on fetuses were depicted as being used on adults. And, thus, Elliot was born. (No pun intended.)

  • I am always against abortion because it is a sin to kill an innocent child.*:;
